Featured Guest Carie Sessarego

Carrie Sessarego is the resident ‘geek reviewer’ for Smart Bitches, Trashy Books, where she wrangles science fiction, fantasy romance, comics, movies, and even non-fiction. Her review of Saga, by Brian K. Vaughn and Fiona Staples, was chosen for the anthology Speculative Fiction 2013: The Year’s Best Online Reviews, Essays, and Commentary. She’s also the creator and writer of Geek Girl in Love, an interactive blog with interviews and author discussions, reviews of all things SF/F, and a friendly venue for guest posts, mixed with a dash of feminism and politics.Carrie’s first book, Pride, Prejudice, and Popcorn: TV and Film Adaptations of Pride and Prejudice, Wuthering Heights, and Jane Eyre, was released in 2014 to postiive reviews, and very few zombie riots. Don’t ask Carrie about these books unless you have a lot of time on your hands to hear about Regency manners and Victorian hygiene!

When not reading and writing, you can find Carrie volunteering for the Sacramento Public Library, and getting into trouble with her mad scientist husband, amazing daughter, suitably mysterious cats, and highly neurotic dog. Carrie’s zombie apocalypse kit contains copies of Jane EyreLord of the Rings, and many, many Oreos.

You can follow Carrie at www.geekgirlinlove.com, and find her reviews under the name “CarrieS” at www.smartbitchestrashybooks.com.
